Refurbishment of a Grade II Listed Apartment
Knightsbridge, London, 2025
The project sees the refurbishment of a top-floor, double-storey apartment set within a Grade II Listed building in Knightsbridge.
The original building, completed in 1862, was designed by the late 19th-century architect Richard Norman Shaw as a studio house for a painter. The tall, gabled house has since been converted into apartments, with a large loft apartment occupying the upper storeys.
Redefining the plan by adding a new staircase and partitions, the layout becomes more efficient. Joinery lines rooms and tie spaces together. The refurbishment carefully balances contemporary living with the retention of the building's historical features.
