Reconfiguration of a first-floor flat within a Victorian terrace to create generous, 'in-between' central spaces that had otherwise been lost as part of a previous conversion. In a tall and long flat, these central rooms transform previously underused and undervalued circulation spaces into worthwhile areas and extensions of the rooms they connect.
The kitchen is relocated to a more sociable position, the bathroom increased in size, and bedrooms are reconfigured. Replacement windows and an improved building fabric increase the internal comfort of the accommodation. Original floorboards that were otherwise redundant are now repurposed as internal panelling. Floors are finished with an oak end-grain floor, offering warmth and sufficient robustness.
